Where it started
Every closet has pieces with more life left in them – a kurta worn twice, a brand new jacket that never quite fit, a forgotten pair of pants lying lowest on the pile. The team at Closetry believes that fashion doesn’t always have to mean more stuff being made. It can just mean more stuff being found, worn again, loved again, passed on.
Over the last few years, thrifting in India moved to Instagram, hundreds of small curators popped up, each with their own page, their own community, their own DM-based way of selling. It worked, but it was messy. No verification, no buyer protection, no way to know if ‘good condition’ meant good condition until the package showed up.
We built Closetry to keep everything that made Instagram thrifting good (real curators, real finds, real prices) and fix everything that made it risky. Ultimately, we just wanted to make it something you don’t have to cross your fingers about.
Because circular fashion should never feel like a gamble – it should just feel like shopping, except better, because something new doesn’t always have to cost the planet.
“The most sustainable outfit is the one already made.”
